Némopolis

Laureate of the Entreprendre network (sponsored by M6, Oséo Anvar, Epson and BNP Paribas), studio and editor Némopolis earned in just three years a place in a much coveted niche : edutainment software. This young and innovative company actually developed an original, upmarket catalogue : its educational video games lead children ages 7-12 to discover history and patrimony of the cities and territories of Europe.

A STRONG DEVELOPMENT OF THE DIRECT RETAILING NETWORK

During 2006-2007, Némopolis conquered a position on the computer game market by developing its direct retailing network (600 outlets) through newly targeted channels : culture and tourism with the shops of the Réunion des Musées nationaux (Invalides, Louvre, Fontainebleau…), and the Centre des monuments nationaux (Arc de triomphe…) ; Dusserre (wholesaler for private castles), tourism information offices, Bayard et Reader’s Digest catalogues, and BHV.

A GROWING REPUTATION AMONG THE PRESS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

Simultaneously, Némopolis reinforced its reputaton among the main media for the youth, mainly for children ages 7-12 (the main target audience) : th games are now recommended by Okapi and Images Docs (Bayard Press) and are labelled « Coup de cœur Fnac ». Némopolis recently earned LE PRIX DU MULTIMEDIA JEUNESSE 2007 for its latest title, « L’Oricou, enquête à Paris sous napoléon »
(« The Vulture »)
.

PRESTIGIOUS PARTNERS AND INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The institutional partners, CNC (Ministry of Culture), Oséo Anvar, the European Commission and the region Poitou-Charentes confirmed their support in 2007. Furthermore, Némopolis attracts new partners : the next game, currently under development, is co-edited with the Domaine national de Versailles of which the president, Christine Albanel, has recently been appointed Minister of Culture.

Némopolis games are henceforth developed in English as well, and caught the attention of several renowned international media, such as TV channels BBC World or Al Jazeera :
